Dr. Doug McGannon is a researcher, pastor, educator, speaker, and writer who has spent more than three decades in ministry, counseling, and education. He holds a Ph.D. in psychology with an emphasis in theology. His doctoral research examined the stigma surrounding mental illness in the Christian Church, and he is currently completing a Doctor of Ministry degree.
A pastoral counselor and U.S. Army veteran, Dr. McGannon pastors Mission 61 Church and serves as an adjunct professor teaching Christian approaches to counseling and life transformation. He co-founded Mosaic Educators, a nonprofit serving students and families, plays bass guitar with the worship collective GraceSong, and writes for people who are tired of being hurried.
He and his wife, Holly, live in Central Florida, near to their children and grandchildren.
